Kokedama with Gardening Australia

Tammy Huynh shares her kokedama tips with Gardening Australia TV.

A few months ago, I was fortunate to be asked to film a segment on ABC’s Gardening Australia. It’s Australia’s premier TV gardening program, presented by leading horticulturists, like Costa Georgiadis, Millie Ross, Sophie Thomas, and Jane Edmanson to name a few.

My segment was on how to make kokedamas and we filmed it at Misty and Mick’s boutique indoor plant nursery, Green Beanz, Erskineville, Sydney (unfortunately, they recently made the difficult decision to close the store, but it is still operating as an online store, so please check them out!). I was excited, but also, nervous, despite having demonstrated how to make kokedamas multiple times and wrapped hundreds of moss balls. But thanks to Costa’s warm and effervescent personality and the TV’s crew’s down-to-earth nature, it was a ball of fun!

I can certainly say this feature goes down as one of my career highlights! Thank you again to Gardening Australia (both the magazine and television show) for this amazing opportunity.

I hope you feel inspired to add a little bit of greenery to your life. If you would like to make your own kokedama, we sell kokedama kits with all the materials ready for you. Alternatively, you can attend an online workshop with a kit sent to you, click here to purchase or book a class. We also run corporate, team-building, birthdays, or any occasion workshops on kokedamas, terrariums, and other indoor/outdoor gardening activities. Please Contact Us to book.
